9.30am | Pack away morning experiences. Circle time: Full group (During this time we say good-morning, discuss the weather, days of the week, special news for the day etc.) |
Outdoor Free Play |
9.45am | Outdoor experiences are set up for children to self-select. These include sand and water play, climbing equipment, construction, art and craft. Fruit time outside: During fruit time a selection of fruit is placed on a table for children to chose. Children are encouraged to have some fruit as well as a drink. |
Indoor Learning |
10.00am | Planned small focus group experiences. All four staff alternatively take small concentrated group times. (Stories,games, music and movement, drama, language, focusing on children’s individual needs, strengths and interests.) |
Lunch Time |
12.00pm | Lunch Time. Children’s lunches are set up on tables inside. Occasionally picnic lunches are organised on sunny days. This is an important social time. Children are to bring their own healthy lunch. We suggest - sandwiches or a salad and any extras such as sultanas, cheese, crackers or muesli bars (no nut and no chocolate). Each child is offered a glass of milk or water to accompany lunch. Please NO lollies, sweet biscuits, cakes, chips, fizzy drink, etc. All children must bring an extra piece of fruit to accompany lunch. |
Prepare for rest |
12.45pm | Children prepare for rest time. Children are encouraged to pack away lunch and proceed with toileting and organising linen for beds. |
Rest time |
1.00pm | Rest time - quiet stories and a short rest. |
School Readiness |
2.00pm | Quiet table experiences - small group and individual. Followed by fruit time. |
Circle Time |
2.30pm | The children help to pack up, then it's Circle time: Full group -games and dancing. |
Outdoor Free Play |
3.00pm | Outdoor free play - self selected experiences. Afterwards the children assist in packing away outdoor equipment |
End of School Day |
4.00pm | The centre closes at 4pm. Please make sure you arrive by 3.50pm to collect your child |
